RECEPTIONIST: Welcome to Apex Climbing. How can I help?
CUSTOMER: Hi. I’d like to book a climbing session. I’m a complete beginner.
RECEPTIONIST: That’s fine. Can I take your full name?
CUSTOMER: Yes, it’s Tara Benson.
RECEPTIONIST: Is that B-E-N-N-S-O-N?
CUSTOMER: Actually, there is only one N in the middle. It is B-E-N-S-O-N.
RECEPTIONIST: Got it, thank you very much for spelling that out. And could I also get a contact number, just in case we need to reach you beforehand?
CUSTOMER: Sure, my mobile is 0795 334 162.
RECEPTIONIST: Perfect. Now, since you haven’t climbed before, you will definitely need to join our induction class. We cover all the basic techniques and safety procedures there.
CUSTOMER: When do those usually take place?
RECEPTIONIST: Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings.
CUSTOMER: Saturday works best. What date is the next one?
RECEPTIONIST: Let me check. The upcoming Saturday is the 13th June. We have a few spots left.
CUSTOMER: The 13th June is great. Put me down for that.
RECEPTIONIST: Done. Now, regarding gear. The safety harness and climbing shoes are automatically included in your booking fee. However, for safety reasons, we highly recommend wearing a helmet on the wall. You can bring your own, or rent one from us at the desk.
CUSTOMER: I don’t own any gear, so I’ll definitely need to hire a helmet for the session.
RECEPTIONIST: I’ll add that. Also, we have showers available in the changing rooms, but we don’t supply any sort of towel, so please pack one in your bag.
CUSTOMER: Good to know. What about lockers? Do I need a padlock?
RECEPTIONIST: No, they operate on a simple returnable system. You just need a coin to release the key.
CUSTOMER: Right, I will make sure I have some change.
