Lecturer:
Hello and welcome to today’s seminar about education. Education is a lifelong process.
There is no limit on when to start and stop, and we have been using technology so much these days in every sector of our lives — including education.

Have we ever taken a second to wonder if it’s leaving a positive impact on our work, or whether we’ve simply become too dependent on it?

Earlier, there was a lot of debate about technology in education amongst the faculty at our school. Everyone had their own views.
At first, some believed that the use of email between students and teachers made them interact with each other less — and that this was not a good thing.

But gradually, as technology was embraced by more educational institutions, they began to recognize its importance.
Technology and education are a great combination — if used with the right purpose and vision.

Moreover, the effectiveness of using IT in education has a strong relationship with the local economy.
In more developed areas, schools and institutions have better access to advanced technology, and teachers are better trained to use it to enhance their classes.

In contrast, in less developed regions or remote areas where technology is not as common, the benefits are not always guaranteed.

However, no matter where they are, the most common example of technology in education is the use of computers.
In most classrooms, you’ll see teachers using computers to present teaching notes and other materials.

This year, the IT School of Westbrook University implemented a brand-new education mode. Since then, both teachers and students have praised it highly.

This mode includes software that allows students and teachers to communicate more easily — and they say they enjoy this new way of interaction.
It also offers students a space to share work they’re proud of — whether it’s a photo, a case study, a song, or just a great idea.

This helps students showcase their strengths and build confidence. Many of them use the feature to show the best of themselves.

It also gives them more freedom to choose what they want to learn online, so they no longer have to sit in class listening to content they’re bored with,
nor do they need to stay up late trying to register for popular elective courses.

Compared to traditional platforms, this new system is more flexible.
The open-source resources it offers are free to use when students are doing research or writing papers.

What’s more, the database is only accessible to registered users, so it’s not something you’ll easily find elsewhere on the internet.
All the materials are original works of teachers or scholars, so there’s no need to worry about content quality.

In fact, with so much unwanted information online, this system provides students with a dedicated search engine for academic use.
It helps filter out advertisements and questionable sources — a perfect example of using new solutions for new problems.

Beyond that, students can manage their daily tasks and improve time management by simply ticking boxes in an online timetable.
They can set their own start times and deadlines for assignments.

According to statistics, this feature has helped reduce procrastination.
By the end of the first term, the number of students requesting deadline extensions for assignments had dropped by 10% — quite an achievement.

Another very creative feature is a platform where students can help others who have academic questions or problems in their field.
In fact, they can even earn money by providing good solutions. So, this new system really makes the most of modern IT.
