Part 1 You will hear a woman speaking to a man who is booking a service for a heat pump.
Woman: Cobalt Heat Care. How can I help you today?
Man: Hi. I would like to book a service for our heat pump.
Woman: Is it a routine service or is there a fault?
Man: Mainly routine, but there is a small issue as well.
Woman: Is the system in a house or a flat?
Man: A house. A small two bedroom place.
Woman: Is there easy access to the outdoor unit?
Man: Yes. It is on the side path by the kitchen door.
Woman: Good. Does the engineer need a gate code or can they ring the bell?
Man: There is no code. They can ring the bell.
Woman: Do you have any pets we should be aware of?
Man: Just a dog. We will keep him inside.
Woman: Could I take your name please?
Man: Yes. It is Gary Letham.
Woman: Could you spell the surname for me?
Man: Sure. L E T H A M.
Woman: And the address?
Man: It is 44 Cairnside Avenue.
Woman: Did you say 44 or 45?
Man: Forty four.
Woman: Thank you. What brand is the heat pump?
Man: It is a Mitsubishi system.
Woman: And what issue have you noticed?
Man: There is some water leaking from a pipe near the outdoor unit.
Woman: Has that been happening for long?
Man: Only for a few days. I noticed it over the weekend.
Woman: Has it affected the heating inside the house at all?
Man: No. The heating still seems to work fine.
Woman: When would you like the engineer to come?
Man: Monday morning would be ideal.
Woman: We only have afternoon appointments available on Monday.
Man: In that case, Tuesday morning would be better.
Woman: Tuesday is fine. I will book that for you now. Your booking number is CH604.
Man: CH604. Thanks.
Woman: The engineer may need to briefly switch off the power. Will someone be at home?
Man: Yes. That is fine. We will be at home.
Woman: Before the visit, please make sure the area around the unit is clear so the engineer can work safely.
Man: No problem.
Woman: During a typical service visit, the engineer will start by checking the outdoor unit and removing surface dirt and moss.
Man: Okay.
Woman: Then they will test the system settings and may make minor adjustments to the thermostat.
Man: Right.
Woman: After that, they will inspect the pipework and look out for any fine cracks.
Man: I see.
Woman: Finally, they will run a full heating cycle and take a temperature reading.
Man: Sounds good. Thank you very much.
